I just spent my morning upgrading my phone plan online and I also cancelled a contract thats not really been used much during its contract with three customers service.
I then get a call from this no. 03333381040, I was very skeptical when I answered that it was three, and got even more worried when they ask for not only my postcode, and date of birth but also my email address.
When I spoke to customers services they didn't ask me for my email, they instead sent a security code to my email and ask me for that.
I was honest with the guy and said I dont feel comfortable giving them more info as it felt to much like a scam.

Hi there @Chii_folklore,
It's common for Three's Customer Protection Team to call you to verify an order as part of standard security checks. This can happen even after the order is processed.
I understand your scepticism, due to spoof calls being on the rise, and it's great to be vigilant.
There can be notes for these calls on your account, so feel free to check in with Customer Services, who will be able to confirm whether any contact is logged.
Thanks,
Michael

I understand your concern, I've experienced these same outbound calls and they make me extremely uncomfortable asking for so much personal information. In my case, it was a call regarding a Technical Issue with a local mast and I really don't understand why they need so much personal data just to tell me what is going on with a mast!

The number is a Three uk number I’ve just called it. It would be worth asking customer service (if you haven’t already done so) what the call was about.

They said it was to make sure that I wasn't a fraud and such
But I had received the email confirming that my order was successful and another saying it was on its way.
So you can see why I was concerned.

Yes of course but be reassured that your understandable concerns can be placated .
