Missed payment affected the credit file

anonymous_1
Fledgling

Long story short: My tablet's airtime was supposed to end in March of 2025, however, Three still continued to take payments from me until the end of October, when I called in and asked to cancel as the plan is not needed for me anymore. The advisor told me that the account was cancelled (apparently not). Fast forward to now, I receive a letter from CRS (Debt collection agency), saying that I owe £30 to Three. I immediately paid the balance, however, it has been flagged on my credit file as a missed payment. I was calling Three, had multiple conversations with them, at the end they opened the case for the Credit File team to remove the missing payment from my file (the advisor said that missing payment on the credit file will be "automatically updated within 30 days"). Has anyone had a similar situation? Will they actually remove the missed payment or are they saying this to get rid of me and my situation faster?

P.S. I am in the middle of my mortgage application process, so this is not what I want to be dealing with right now.

Hello @anonymous_1,

Thank you for sharing this with us.

If a credit file amendment is raised, this can take up to 30 days to be actioned and up to 60 days to be reflected on record.

Did the team investigate the plan not being cancelled and confirm if this was an error? Had you requested a cancellation in March 2025?

Thanks,
Michael
