Got an email from three to say my order has been cancelled even though it originally said it had been accepted and would be delivered tomorrow. A number had phoned me once yesterday whilst I was at work and then tried early this morning too. I had no idea it was Three until I looked the number up and by the time I did they had cancelled the order. Contacted three through live chat to which the person said my account was under investigation because I didn’t answer three’s security check questions over the phone and that I had to wait until they had completed their investigation before I could order the new phone again. Has this happened to anyone else? How long did you have to wait before you could order a new phone?
The person on the live chat also said they do this with every person that is upgrading to a high end phone, but my sister never received any phone calls and she ordered the same phone as me. Just seems a bit strange.

Hi @Whatagem18,
I'm sorry to hear that your order has been delayed due to this additional check. I won't be able to determine the reason that your upgrade was flagged for additional checks and other customers haven't been, but our Customer Protection Teams look at a number of factors including but not limited to the phone model. It's always disappointing to hear when a legitimate order has been delayed like this, but the intention is to protect our customers. I hope everything is back on track for you soon.
Thanks,
Jonathan

With respect I think there is more to this saga than you’re letting on. Coincidentally I upgraded from an iPhone 12 to an iPhone 16 pro max literally 8 days ago and had no such calls. I would certainly call my phone “high end” as you put it. I did my upgrade via the Three app as opposed to going through customer service;whether that makes any difference or not I don’t know, but if it were me I’d call them (as opposed to live chatting) and find out what on earth is occurring because after all you’ve presumably been credit checked and any security issues could be dealt with at that point.

Hi I don’t know what you’re meaning when you say there’s more to this saga than I’m letting on. I literally was upgrading my phone from iPhone 14 Pro to iPhone 16 pro and the order went through. I received a phone call yesterday that apparently was from three but as i said i was in work so couldn’t answer. The live chat on three told me that they are investigating it because I didn’t answer the phone to answer security questions, which I have never had to do before. I did my upgrade through the app as well. I have no idea why this has happened for this upgrade, but I will be phoning if I don’t receive an email like they said I would.

No. To be fair to you I worded my reply badly. I was comparing your experience to mine but my advice to contact customer service by phone still stands.
