Hi everyone. Hoping someone might have some ideas.
There has been almost no data connectivity in my area (Ealing Broadway) for almost 18 months. Phone signal shows 3-4 bars, but it's impossible to get a data connection. Previously going through support they acknowledged the issue and said the area is very over congested - but how can we actually flag the issue to someone at Three so they actually try to do something about it. The problem started in June 2023, and despite many contacts with customer services, nothing's improved.
To be honest I think it's part of a wider problem - Three are horrific all over London, they just don't have enough masts/capacity in the masts - doesn't matter if it's 4G or 5G connectivity that shows on the signal, it's impossible to even connect to WhatsApp to send text-only messages. I've been given recurring discounts but at this stage it's not about the money, it's about making someone properly aware of the problem and trying to get it fixed. I'd understand if we were out in the sticks somewhere but this is a major urban area, no idea how in 2024 this kind of thing is still happening.
Has anyone experienced similar issues where phone/s show signal but data is unusable? Did you manage to get the issue resolved? Who/how did you flag/escalate it to?
I've done the obvious things to rule out device specific issues (reset network settings/used different devices) - and the issue affects at least 5 other people nearby who I know are on Three. Not to mention Three support themselves said it's overcongestion. But is there any other route worth taking, e.g., Ofcom complaints, etc? Very frustrating situation and I'm not sure how mobile networks get away with it.
