I recently went to India and enquired about roaming charges before I went. All I could see from Three was I was ‘all-set’ to go roaming as I had a pay monthly account.
when I arrived I found I was paying £7 per day roaming charges. Also, my phone was blocked after about three days as Three had set a credit limit on the account.
With poor WiFi I tried to buy an add on which let me use the phone abroad in a large number of countries. When I tried to use the phone I found India was excluded and I needed a more expensive add on.
when I got through to customer services they would not refund the add on I could not use nor let me exchange and pay the extra. I understand this must be in the T&Cs.
I was given a £10 credit presumably because they see this is just exploiting user error.
today I found that charge was swallowed by VAT on top of the original £50 !!!!

Doesn't sound like you've had the best experience with ourselves. I'm sorry to hear this.
