I had a call from a mobile number yesterday, claiming to be from 3.
The number was 07*********
The caller said that “we are upgrading our services, your current SIM will stop working in the next 2-3 days. We are sending a new SIM by courier tomorrow. Can you please confirm…” at which point I ended the call.

Hi @Philgc,
Sorry to hear about this, it'll definitely be a scam call. We wouldn't ring you from a number beginning 01, 02, or 07. We've removed the number as this will likely be a "spoof", in most cases like this the UK number being used is faked, and it may well be an active number belonging to someone who has nothing to do with this scam.
You can find out more info to help protect you from scams, and how to report them on our Fraud to watch out for page.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Just had a call from a very rude woman pretending to be calling me from Three - but the number was 020 4628 4369
not a three number. She told me that my SIM card was about to be switched off and I would lose everything - I said it was all fine and wanted to end the call and she got fairly agitated with me! Was trying to get my home address, and personal details.
This is about the 6th call I've had - so I went into the shop last week and they told me all was fine!

Got a call on Monday from 07*********, wanting me to confirm my email address in order to send a confirmation of delivering a new SIM card (after Vodafone and Three merge).

Hi there @azagu88,
Thanks for reporting this.
Three does not call you from mobile numbers, and this mention of needing a new SIM due to the merger is common by impersonators but is completely false.
Please never share any info with such calls, and you can report these numbers by sending a text to 7726 with the message CALL, followed by the number that called you.
This will make sure it's flagged on Three's end.
Thanks for your vigilance.
Michael

I got the same call from 020 3433 1938, stating that 3 had merged with Tesco as Vodaphone were increasing the charges. Wanted my email, which I told him he already had. Hung up 👍

I had a similar call from 0******** saying they were sending me a new SIM card for the three and Vodafone merger. They asked me to confirm my email address and I stupidly did. They had my name and number and I confirmed a day best for delivery. Is there anything I can do to protect myself further? Thanks.

Hi @Alyt,
Sorry to hear that you were targeted by scammers, this definitely sounds like phishing as we wouldn't call from an 01 number, and the pretext of needing to swap your SIM is a known tactic of scammers.
If you've confirmed info relating to your account please get in touch and let the team know. You can also find further general advice on the fraud to watch out for page, but as you've mentioned disclosing an email it's best to make sure the situation is directly logged on your account.
Thanks,
Jonathan
