I have recently received calls for a very attractive promotion from this number 02** *** **** ( claiming to be the promotion team) and would like to check if it is a scam or genuine number please?
Offer is for a new phone and renewal of my contract for 2 years.
Moderator note, number removed for customer protection. Three don't use 02 landline codes to call our customers

This is a scam! Followed it along with someone just now to see what's what. They give you a new password to put in on a page they say is the new portal to you account.
This overwrites your existing password so they have access to your account.
I'll be reporting it to three directly today.

I have had a call from 44 11* *** ****, a Danny Brooks from Threeg Promotions Team, trying to sell me a new contract for 3G, at a 45% discount due the reception being not great. He sent me an email, from promotions@threeguk.com with the deal and confirming the price and phone model. He asked for £40 upfront. I have not given him anything as I wanted to investigate and check with my Three rep. I now feel and see this is a scam.

Hi @VickyCorielle,
Yeah that's definitely a scammer, we won't call from a number beginning 01, 02, or 07, and we don't trade as Three G UK either, that's definitely not one of our emails.
If you've disclosed personal info on the call, we'd recommend to follow the advice on our report a problem page. You can also find info on how to report scam calls on our fraud to watch out for page.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Just happend. They really sold me that storyline. Like your one of our customerssss we wanna take care of you UwU. Bro I smelled something fishy when I asked about the account holder policy. So mum’s the account holder homegirl has to be present. They’re strict bout that. He wasn’t…so I ended the phone call. I knew I was smelling something crazyy when man’s tryna sell me the iPhone 16 for £21 pm brudda. Wat. I smelled it and ran I’m telling you.

Hi @Mscheck,
Glad to hear that you didn't fall for the scam. Here's info on fraud and scams to watch out for. The page I've linked also gives advice on how to report these callers.

Promotion or phishing?
I received a phone call from 07********* on Friday 25th October with very attractive offer of mobile services upgrade and new I Phone 14 Pro Max 5G. I was considering an upgrade, so I believed the offer was a genuine one. I was sharing my personal details - I'm too embarrassed now, but when i was asked my bank card security code I become suspicious. Phone offer was followed by email with company Three logo. On a later day I reported email to noreply@phishing.gov.uk
I blocked my bank card for safety and I'm feeling insecurity related to my bank account, email and other personal details I have revealed. I am sharing this here for everyone to be vigilant of a potential scum! I hope nobody has to go through such experience.
Be wise, keep safe.

Hello, Asija.
Welcome to the Three Community.
Thanks for taking the time to share your experience, and hopefully helping others avoid similar issues. Those callers can be quite convincing, so it's always a good idea to exercise caution when dealing with cold callers.
Pete.

Hello guys! In recent weeks quite a few people around me and I have been bombarded with calls from “3 promotions team”. Scammers are starting to be really annoying!
Gladly non of my friends fell for the scams but they’ve been harassed seriously.
I asked one of those fake agents to stop calling with their offers or there will be consequences but he started threatening me on the phone.
Numbers they call from : 0**********; 0**********; 0**********; 0**********
Stay safe!
