Any robust alternative devices to Y5-210MU?

niclaw
Fledgling

I am wondering if any of you have success with alternative device to Y5-210MU?

What I'm looking for is:

1. Hopefully an outdoor 5G device with sim slot

2. High-gain (prefer omnidirectional) antennas (better than Y5-210MU)

3. 4x4 MIMO

4. carrier aggregation and signal lock

5. WiFi 6 (mythical creature WiFi 7 if possible).

6. If you suggest "internal" router, with "external" antennas, please suggest the best available. Budget is not a problem.

All I'm looking for is robust signal gain, consistent 5G signal that does not drop-in/out every 5 minutes like Y5-210MU.

I am connected to Three networks band 78, but for the life in me, I can't find WHERE the closest mast is on cellmapper! Anybody willing to help, my postal code is EH4 ***

Hi @niclaw,

Sorry I can't advise you about devices we don't supply at Three, but hopefully a fellow customer may have some input on this.

From my discussions with our devices team, we haven't went down the route of sourcing external antennas, as although they may get a stronger signal strength, generally any speed gains are lost in the cable to the indoor router.

I have seen some posts from customers who mention using these though, so it may be subjective to factors like your building, and where you can place the router or antennas, and overall coverage.

I'm sorry but I don't have direct access to the precise mast locations on my end, and we have to edit out customer postcodes on the Community.

Thanks,
Jonathan
