For over two weeks now my 5g home internet has been shocking to the point of unuseable. I was getting a fantastic 350mbps at somepoints now i have less than 5mbps.
The status page says "sorry we are working on the problem" but no details on what the problem is or when it will be fixed.
I called them today to get some information on what on earth is going on and their genuine advice was to realign my box to point towards the mast that's having the issue. I'm not sure they really knew what they were saying. This really did add to my frustration.
Their best guess was to wait for yet another week but not offering a fixed day on when my service might return.
Left feeling i should never have left my previous supplier and feel that leaving 3 is really the best option. Absolute rubbish on all fronts.
Another thing, is all 5g internet (home and mobile) all the same for all networks? As 3 mobile customers can use the Vodafone network for free, why cant I then? I feel it cant be as my giffgaff mobile 5g is perfectly. fine.
Can anyone advice currently running around 5mbps 5g internet and getting more and more frustrated.
Thanks and sorry for the moan. Customer service was frankly a total waste of my time.
Thanks

Hi @StourbridgeRY,
Were you advised of a timeframe for the loss of speed to be investigated before you hear back from the support team?
It might be the case that the team needs time to look into it before alternative options, such as cancellation, can be considered.
This is often the case when an area issue is highlighted.
Thanks,
Michael

Hello there.
It's disappointing to hear your speeds have dropped so much. Fingers crossed things will be sorted soon.
In relation to your 5G question; no, not all 5G networks are the same. In most cases, companies will have their own masts, and will operate on their own bands. If there's an issue locally, it might affect users on some networks, but not others. It really just depends on what's causing the issue.
Pete.
