I have just had a new 3 broadband router delivered. A whole new account. And the password does not work when inputted. I have tried a factory reset too

What password are you trying to input? There is a password for the WiFi network and password for the router interface. They are usually printed on a label on the router somewhere. Then there is your Three online account which is also protected by a password, but the fact you are on the forum suggests you are able to access that okay?

That doesn't sound right.
What's the make and model of the Broadband hub that you have purchased?
Is the password label clear of any blemishes or fading? Are any of the characters unclear?
The password is also case-sensitive, and factory resetting it would return it to the default password on the hub.
If this is an ongoing issue and still doesn't work, please chat with the Home Broadband team, who will complete some further checks on this and work directly with you on the router.
