Sick of some devices not connecting

Nothappy123
Fledgling

I've been with 3 mobile home broadband for about 6 weeks and I'm absolutely regretting it.

In a 1 person household with 2 devices connected, the Internet is so poor that it can't cope with a teams video call.

I also can't connect my Alexa or smart TV to the WiFi - it shows a connection (a good connection at that), but the reality of actually connecting is that it's non existent. I've gone into the admin side of things and split the connection to no avail. I've also tried the guest network hack whicj also doesnt work. Am I just not tech-savvy enough for this? My mobile data (not 3 mobile) connects to all devices fine via hotspotting. I feel like I've been sold a complete lie with 3 and I've got this for the best part of 2 years 🙃

Hi there,

Welcome to the Three Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having a poor start with your Three Broadband.

Based on what you've shared it sounds like the devices are connecting to Wi-Fi okay, and it's the 5G signal that's letting us down.

You can check our Network Status Checker, this will help understand if there's a local issue we're working on, to get an idea of if this is the normal coverage or if there's something we're fixing with the local masts.

I'd recommend to experiment with the router in different locations in your property. Generally higher is better, and on or near windowsills.

If there's no issues we're working on, and there's nowhere at home where you can pick up better speeds and connection quality, then please get in touch. The returns policy is 30 days, but the team should check any options to help improve the service, and if there's a definite coverage problem, they may be able to discuss options for a return regardless.

Thanks,
Jonathan
