Hi,
Looking for some information. Recently setup my 5g hub and I had assumed that I could use PoE from my switch (ubiquity PoE) without the need of using the power adapter. However, it appears that this is not the case in practice as the device doesn't power. Does anyone know what might make the power adapter work? I assume it's the PoE standard but can't really find any info on it.
Cheers!

Think I've figured it out. It's using passive PoE rather than active. Passive is the older format and not seen to be as friendly to components, hence why no power is being delivered/ detected.
Thought I'd update here for anyone else looking into it.
If this is incorrect then I'm all ears!

hello
what cat is your ethernet cable and how long?

Tried cat6a /6 / 5 short and long, including the supplied cat cable. Tested on PoE, PoE+ and PoE++. All nothing. Yet, as soon as I connect the power adapter it works with any cable I use.

Thanks,
