Hi is anyone able to recommend a cheap reliable 4g Pocket MiFi device that works on the Three Network.
I tried one yesterday from Amazon and got it working using the three.co.uk APN and it would work for a few mins then go offline, then work again only to fail again. I suspect it may have been over heating and sent it back.
I later tried the same sim in a Three MiFi router which worked perfectly all day, so the sim must be ok.
Was hoping someone out there can recommend a brand or model that will work on the UK Three 4g network.
Thanks in advance,
JamieG

I managed to try another cheap MiFi device and get it working on Three 😁
I am using the MiFi to provide a secure connection to a Raspberry Pi server and so far it looks to be very reliable with a good/stable 4g connection.
The one I got was from eBay but below on AliExpress looks like the same model. Note: It is NOT 5g, just 3g & 4g
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007317217204.html
Connect to the MiFi and access router at: 192.168.100.1 see router for admin password.
The Three settings were:
AP: three.co.uk
IP: IPV4/IPV6
Network mode: 4g
Everything else, eg user/password blank
Works fine on Three network 😎
Hope this helps anyone else after a cheap MiFi solution 👍
cheers,

Thanks @JamieG,
Really great info and spot on with the APN settings, I'd just add that the APN 3internet may also work better as an alternative for Broadband purposes.
I've not allowed one of the screenshots as there was an IMEI showing, it's best not to share that ID for your device from a security perspective. I don't think the lack of that image will stop others from following what you posted though. 🙂
Thanks,
Jonathan

@JamieG Most Excellent, good to hear you found that.
Is it the white USB stick one you got? The Bundle: 05 white one?
I use my iPhone solution on Raspberry Pi also 😀 👍

If it helps, I use an iPhone SE (2016) with Personal Hotspot switched on for this purpose. I purchased it a couple years ago on ebay for less than £30. It works faultlessly.
It works better than any of the Mi-Fi units I tried. I've also used a Xperia Z5 phone the same way with no issues on other networks.
It's an option unless someone can say better.
