Consumer to business mix up

I was originally a three consumer customer but at thr start of December decided to take out a Three Business contract. I was told that bringing my mobile number over to Three business wouldn't be a problem and just a simple C to B transfer. My number was disconnected on the 30th December and I've been without a phone since, constantly on the phone to Three trying to sort it out, I've made a complaint, it's been passed over to the technical team but yet nothing seems to help the situation move forward. I was sent out a new sim and received this yesterday morning, I rang Three and asked to put my original number that had been cancelled onto this new sim. This was yesterday morning and whilst I'm aware that it can take a maximum of 48 hours, I do hold very little hope of it actually working. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

That's an unusual issue to be having. I'm not sure what would have caused that, but the process is normally reliable, so something unexpected must have occurred. I'm hopeful that the team will get it resolved for you as planned, and get your number back up and running asap.
