I am struggling to get my Xbox to work on Xbox live. Doing some googling it seems that the MTU is too low, it is 1360 and should be about 1385 to be able to work properly. I have rung three who seem to have no knowledge of what an MTU is and have sent me to the ombudsman. I have logged into the router (H122-373) and increased the MTU manually however it will not pull through onto my XBOX. I have put it in the DMZ, enabled UPNP and generally faffed with it as much as i can but the MTU on the XBOX does not change. I am assuming this is what is being sent from three and so it is something to be changed at three's end...
Does anyone else have any experience of this, or have any issues with XBOX live and home broadband 5g? or can they get it to work, cheers

Thank you for your response Jonathan, I appreciate your ongoing support in this matter. I have just came of the phone with Xbox, after nemours transfers to different departments we are still none of the wiser. I was advised all of the basics that you would expect. Clear Xbox mac address, hard reboot console, unplug power, restart router, contact ISP. It took me a good while to get hold of somebody who somewhat understood what a MTU was. Sadly, we are no closer on fixing this. 😞

I appreciate the wait on this one has been frustrating, so I've done some tests on my own series X just now and can confirm it's not an issue on the network as a whole.
MTU showing on Xbox was 1480 when using a hotspot 5G connection, with a Three data SIM. I was hoping to replicate the problem to be honest, but there must be other variables involved.
Can anyone confirm if the issue persists when the router SIM is popped into a phone and used as a hotspot? This may help us narrow down what's causing this.

I have been having this issue for over 6 weeks. MTU size does not change and also when you enable UPnP it doesn't actually do anything and it will not make use of IPV6 either. I am loosing access to most online Xbox games, it gets worse every week. We need a different capable router sending out. Last night it struggled with youtube.

Hi Jonathan, Maybe the next step is to borrow a router or two or more different types and connect to your own Xbox? This would highlight issues with the router if the problem arises.

I have just tried a similar test using a hotspot, I am not using the three network for this and sadly it's only 4G suppose to 5G which in this instance is probably good for the test. Upon testing my hotspot I too get an MTU of 1480.
What I have noticed differently connecting to my phones hotspot supposed to the Three 5G router both wireless and wired is when I go to the Xbox Settings - General - Network settings - Over to the right hand side under "Current Network Status" the Xbox is connecting to both IPv4 and IPv6 using my phones hotspot. Once connected to the router IPv6 disappears. If I go into the Advanced Settings on the Network tab on the Xbox it tells me that the Port connected is using Ipv4. Read about using IPv6.
This might be a long shot, but this is the only difference I can notice.

Hi, I keep getting MTU errors on my xbox one. I’ve tired everything from changing setting on router and phoning three but they don’t seem to know what I’m talking about.
The minimum requirements for the xbox MTU is 1384 but I can only seem to get 1360. I’ve added some pictures. MTU Xbox Live - 5G Home Broadband

I’m having the same issue did all the hard reset on my xbox nothing works enabled upnp still get 1-3% packet loss nat type is moderate and I’m wired aswell MTU is also 1360

This is an ongoing investigation with many three users, and is growing by the day. There is currently nothing we can do as the MTU is automatically determined by three so even changing the settings in the router would not make a difference. There are other posts on here with people having the same issue, one of them being myself. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do at this present time.

I've seen several posts floating around the internet where people are having MTU issues when using 5G networks to connect to Xbox Live.
I currently own the 5G Home Broadband. I'm having the exact same MTU issue. When testing my connection my MTU is 1360. People are reporting they can change the MTU manually in the router settings but I couldn't seem to find the option to do so.
I was just wondering has anyone fixed this ongoing issue? I've seen reports that date back to the beginning of this year with still on going solutions.
