Poor coonection during landline calls

Danno

I have been having issues with calling landlines. I can usually hear the person on the other end but they can't hear me. This issue is only a calls to landlines problem as calling mobiles is always fine.

This was happening on my previous sim and phone and I expected an upgrade to resolve the issue with a new sim card and new number, unfortunately the problem still occurs.

I've called Three and they're unsure of the issue.

Hi Maxine,

No I've not been back onto the agents, I've been in touch with agents and the store numerous times and they all went through the same checks,  WiFi calling, change sim card, try different phone, etc etc,  all to no avail,  they all said they had no other complaints about it and it was just me,  then the last one quite a few months ago said three was doing work in the area and refunded me a month's payment saying would be fixed soon.  Nobody at three is acknowledging a problem, but, if you go to this forum and other forums, it's people all over the country and with different handsets, all the same, landlines only cannot make calls.

I just cannot wait for another couple of weeks when I can change to another provider who supports calling to landlines.

But thank you for your response

I've been told the same thing when I've tried to get this issue fixed before. I'll be moving away from Three as it's clear there is an issue and they are unable or unwilling to solve it

Three don't even want to admit there is a problem, they told me they haven't had any phone calls about it to customer services , I told them there's plenty people complaining on forums but they just said it will be all networks,  three don't want to know

Yup, same here. I ended up getting the landline reconnected to make the important calls (as the majority of them were landline numbers)
Three are not taking this issue seriously.  Getting fobbed off by "no-one else has the problem" when most people don't realise that Three is to blame, specifically, their gateway to the wired telephone system is to blame, almost as if it has barely any bandwidth.  It is asymmetric in the sense that I can always hear the person on the other end of the call, but they can't hear me, I called my own landline and it reminds me of being in the Scottish Highlands but without the call being dropped, just hundreds of pieces of voice, cut up like confetti and thrown in a gust of wind. I guess most people use Facetime/WhatsApp for voice calls, or, just mobile-to-mobile calls and those aren't affected. I hate to think that calling 999 is going to result in this kind of experience, the emergency call handler will think it's a time-waster...

Hi ☺️

I also am having the exact same issue as yourself!

Did you manage to resolve it please? And if so, how?

Thankyou!

Tara

No, three refuse to believe there is a problem, whenever contacting customer service they just keep saying that nobody has ever raised this issue!!

Hi 👋

So I have reset my network settings at it seems to have helped for now...

We shall see if it has fixed the issue!

Did this affect reconnection to 3 mobile network? Im having the same issue with landline calls and it's becoming untenable. Can't even call three customer service because they keep complaining they can't hear me for the bad line 😅🤨🙄 Went into my Samsung settings now and it warned this reset mean that I can't reconnect to my mobile network....

Hi @bannie87,

If you're resetting network settings, this will forget any saved Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth devices. So you'd need to re-enter passwords for Wi-Fi networks you've used in the past when next connecting, and set up pairing with devices like headphones etc. It doesn't affect your SIM though.

Here's a link to a Samsung support page just to make sure we're discussing the same option. Step 4 on that page explains resetting network settings.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I've tried everything and I cannot call landlines at all, nothing I've done has ever worked, network settings, new sim card, phone factory re-set etc etc, my phone still cannot be used for making calls as EVERY Landline I ring say its a bad line and cannot hear me.

Three are not interested they say they've had nobody else with a problem so must be my handset or signal.  I told them about these forums and they said its just a few people out of thousands who have no problem.
