Question about porting problems

Hello,

I moved to Three recently and on Dec 11 my number was supposed to port. Something happened and I could then only make phone calls. If anyone rings me a message says "this number is not valid". Texts cannot be sent or received.

Initially I was told the porting had a problem. Now I have been told the port worked and the problem is with the SIM card. My question is if the problem is with the SIM card would people get such a message ("this number is not valid") when phoning? Given I have to wait up to 4 days to get a new SIM card, I want to be sure this is going to solve it.

To add to the confusion I spoke to someone else at Three, who says a specialist team is investigating the number porting and I should wait 48 hours. This contradicts what the other agent has already told me that the porting worked and that I need a new sim.  Its concerning different agents seem to claim different things about what is going on.

Can someone help with this please? The issue still is ongoing.
