I am currently travelling abroad and want to use my mobile hotspot to connect to the internet with my laptop. I have plenty of data left (18GB data addon) and the internet works on my phone. However, I get "connected but no internet access" on my laptop, when connecting to the phone's wifi. The phone is an Android device, and I have tried to reset/change all hotspot options (including name and password), to no avail. What is going wrong? Is three blocking hotspot access somehow?

I have the same problem. Dangerous to me as a diabetic can't monitor it. Also the stress of being stranded in unknown places is very stressful. Two trips one to Holland and now Romania. Went personally before I left to 3 and was assumed it would work. Even bought extra. Spend useless time on chat help getting no where. Have to rely on hotel WiFi but once I leave nothing.

Sorry to hear you've been having some trouble with your roaming services. Can I just double check that this issue is specifically with hotspotting/tethering, that is sharing your mobile's data to another device such as a laptop? Or do you mean you've been unable to access services in general like calls, texts, and data?
If you can clear up what specific services are an issue, I'll do my best to help or point you in the right direction.

Hello there.
Hotspot isn't available while roaming on most plans. On plans where it's not available, a Data Passport will unlock access to Hotspot. You can only use Data Passport if you're on a contract account.
