Two sims, one number?

filthyromance
Fledgling

I have a 5G sim & iPhone 14, 11 months left on my contract. In an attempt to break the hold my iPhone has over me, I bought a Nokia 5310, but unfortunately my sim doesn't work in it.

Can I get a second, non-5G sim with the same number, so I can use the Nokia as my main phone and just leave the iPhone around for authorisation stuff? What are the cost/technical implications of doing this?

ChatGPT tells me this is possible, depending on network, I wondered if anyone had tried it. I don't want a second number, and I'll just see out the 11 months if this is not possible.

Hi @filthyromance,

Great question! Unfortunately you can only have your number active on one SIM card at a time with Three though. You can order a replacement SIM, or pop into a Three store with ID to replace your SIM, but the existing number will disconnect from the old SIM and be connected to the new one.

It's certainly interesting feedback though so I will pass this on.

Thanks,
Jonathan
