I just received a welcome to EU roaming advice text, but I am sat in my living room at home. Can't find the right option in the customer service phone maze, and the digital assistant can't understand me.
Is this just a random error? I dont want to get charged for roaming when I'm sat at home!

Hi @ikjoyce,
Sorry to hear about this and any concern this message has caused. If it's an advice on charges text stating something lke "Welcome to <country> this is a Go Roam...." then that message doesn't cause any charges in of itself. You'd normally get a further message to confirm you've activated Go Roam and have a daily roaming charge.
It's not entirely impossible to pick up Roaming service in the UK, but it's very rare, most commonly from somewhere like Dover, where occasionally on the coast you can pick up a French signal. Or a passing cruise ship or ferry, as these sometimes have a "maritime" service.
Where did the text welcome you to, and if you don't mind me asking where in the UK are you? Don't share your post code but which town/city is fine.
Thanks,
Jonathan
