Voicemail charges?

I've always had voicemail turned off since being with Three due to charges. I was surprised today to receive a voicemail. I've tried to find out through my account if there is a charge for listening to these messages, but it's not easy. I have no idea what contract (advanced, essential etc) & myaccount & bills don't tell me. So, will I be charged for retrieving that message? I am regularly in an area without any network coverage (Formby National Trust) so I'm concerned I could end up with a larger than expected bill.

Hey @tippy,

That's right. On an advanced plan with unlimited minutes, your calls to voicemail will count as UK calls so no additional charges will apply.

Oh my gosh easy task made to be a nightmare. Well done 3. I’m home from Iceland soon and cancelling immediately when I get there. What an absolute s*** show.

Just found the email with plan details. I'm on an advanced unlimited calls & messages 12 month plan as last year I couldn't stay on the plan I'd been on for years (was being swapped to a much more expensive one). So I assume voicemail is included?

Hey @tippy,

We've received a few reports recently from customers that their Voicemail reactivated itself. If you contact customer services they should be able to get that fixed for you, if you'd like it to be deactivated again.

All our current Pay Monthly plans include calling your Voicemail as part of your minutes allowance. So the vast majority of customers will face no extra charges. All of our recent plans (Three Your Way/Advanced/Essentials) have a 65p/minute charge for if you have limited minutes allowances and run over.

If you've been on the same plan without upgrading for a few years now, then you may want to check the price guides online. However, the "older plans" price guides are for customers who have chosen not to upgrade since 2014, so I'm assuming this won't be relevant to you.

Thanks,
JonathanB

Hi Jonathan,

This applies to me:

as I have been a pay as you go Three customer since December 2014 without upgrading.  So does the older price plan that was in effect then still apply to me for voice mail? And other calls etc.?

Thanks, Peter

Hey Peter,

The price plan previously referenced is for Pay Monthly customers, you'll be able to check out any charges/terms under the 'Pay As You Go' tab.

Thanks,

Kate

You will need to call customer services on 333 to check that your voicemail is off.
