Bill carrying on after 2 year contract expires

Hi, I purchased an iPhone for my daughter and had been paying £56 monthly. I realised recently that I had been paying for an extra 4 months past the end of the contract. I spoke to THREE today and they are saying that they would not refund the extra 4 months. They did email me to tell me, but I have 4 different contracts with THREE for my family, so it is very easy to miss one of the many emails I receive from them, many of which are simply promotion emails.

I understand that part of this payment is towards the services I get from Three I.e. Data and calls, but surely a large part of these payments are towards the handset which was paid off in December 24. Are THREE really just pocketing this extra money. I'm absolutely dumbfounded that they think that this is acceptable. I'm wondering if it is something worth pursuing. If I'd changed to a sim only deal, I would have been paying around £15, so to my mind, they should be refunding me a huge chunk of these 4 payments of £56 I made after my contract finished.

If the original contract didn’t split the device and airtime plan then you are out of luck. Plus it will be in T&C you signed at the beginning of contract that once contracted period is up it will become a rolling on contract unless or until you decide to make changes. Three cannot change your service without your permission. Its the same practice with every other company. They will keep charging you unless you intervene.
