Whenever someone calls my number and I don't answer voicemail will kick in and invites the caller to leave a message. The problem I have is that voicemail kicks in far too quickly (about 15 seconds). This means that, unless I have my phone in my hand or in front of me at about arms length, I frequently cannot answer an incoming call but have to go to voicemail to find out if the caller left a message.
As far as I can tell there is no facility to enable me to change the time before voicemail kicks in causing frequent missed calls. Other phone systems in my expedience normally have this feature to enable the phone holder to change the wait time before voicemail kick in. I contacted Three support and the agent didn't seem to be aware of any way of my changing the length of time before voicemail kicks in. My phone is an Android. Does anyone know if there is an Android feature to change the wait time before voicemail kicks in?

Do you know the difference between the 3 community and the 3 app? No, well for some reason the community has a search option whilst the app has had it removed. Just a little dig at 3.

For some reason I keep being told to use the app for managing my 3 account. However I dislike the microscopic virtual keyboards on phones which make it pretty much impossible for me to enter detailed information. As I want a proper keyboard for entering data I only use the three.co.uk website for all my interactions with 3.
I would like all features to be offered through their website and not just the app.

For some reason 3 does not trust its customers to manage voicemail and they insist on doing it for us. Perhaps they should trust us then they may have time to blacklist phones and send out bags for the return of equipment.

Their system doesn't make sense. I have used other providers and they have all had a feature for the customer themselves to change the length of voicemail wait. Normally this takes the customer only a few seconds to do. If nothing else, this will prevent wasting a lot of people's time by customers calling 3 to change the value. For example, today when I called customer service it took them about 15 minutes just to answer the phone before they could even start to deal with my query.

I believe it’s perfectly possible to alter the voicemail answer length but it needs to be done by customer service as opposed to entering a code on your handset.

Thanks for that info. I've just called customer service who have informed me that yes, they can change the voicemail answer length for customers but the maximum time is only 30 seconds.
I explained that when I am at home (unlike when I am on the road) I do not carry the handset around with me. So often the handset maybe in left a different room (or even a different floor) which means I cannot then normally answer incoming calls in 30 seconds. The agent agreed to pass this matter onto management and request an option of longer answer length (up to 60 seconds) for those for those of us who require it. I appreciate that such a change cannot be implemented instantly but hope it will happen in the not too distant future.
