Moving abroad keeping monthly number active

Samz44
Fledgling

Hi,

I am moving to the UAE and have a three pay monthly contract. I’m being told different things by three agents. Some say my number will get disconnected after 3 months if I don’t return to the uk. Others say this won’t happen but I must use my phone as in text or call. Which one is true? Can I keep my number and use my phone as I do on a wi fi connection and also sometimes texts & calls? Can it remain my permanent forever number even though I’ll be living in UAE?

Hello @Samz44,

Three has a policy in place for long-term roaming, as this is intended for use with periodic travel and not permanently.

If you spend 2 complete months in 1 or more Go Roam destinations in a rolling 12-month period, international roaming services on your account may be suspended.

This means you’ll no longer be able to use your allowances abroad, and you'll be notified if this is likely to happen.

This restriction can be lifted only if you returned to the UK after the services have been suspended.

This info is also available online.

Thanks,
Michael
