No data roaming in Hungary

My account predates October 2021. I checked in a 3 store last week to see if I could still use my at home allowance whilst in Hungary. The customer assistant said YES no problem. I have now arrived in Hungary and I can’t use my phone. Not even to call 333 and actually talk to someone. I’m in a very difficult situation. I’m currently hooked up with a friend of a friend’s WiFi but it’s only for the next hour or so. I’m outside and very cold. The live chat link is unhelpful. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can speak with someone at 3?

I'm sorry to hear that you've arrived in Hungary and aren't picking up service. If it's not one of @tarantella's suggestions, it sounds like you may need roaming provisioned at the account level. Sorry to hear the livechat options didn't manage to help. If you'd prefer not to chat, then you'll find numbers that can be called from an international line on our contact us page. These are in +44 format if you scroll down. We'd usually recommend to use chat from a cost perspective in case this is an expensive call though.

Just in case there's an issue with the network your phone is automatically connecting to, I'd also recommend to check in your settings for network or carrier selection. This is usually automatic, but you can usually manually search for and connect to any provider with coverage.

Check that your spend cap isn't set to zero, and that your credit limit isn't set to £1.

 

Also, check that data roaming is switched on in your phone settings
