Paid last months bill twice

I was sent an email saying that I needed to pay last months bill.    I mowed the payment.   So paid it online.    And today it has come out of my account again on my direct debit.  
can we please resolve this

If you're on a Pay Monthly plan and make a manual payment, your direct debit will still be taken if you make the manual payment close to the direct debit date.

The additional payment can be credited towards your next bill, but if you'd prefer for this to be refunded, please have a chat with Customer Services to arrange this.

I’m fairly sure that if you pay your bill very close (within days) to your direct debit date it will be too late to stop the debit being collected and a situation to which you allude will arise. Obviously I don’t know the wording or circumstances as regards the email you received but you’d need to contact customer service either by calling 333 or via the chat service to sort things as this is a public forum with no access to your account.
