Scam calls from people claiming to be 3

Hatshepsut
Fledgling

Keep getting calls from this number: 03333381017 - by people with "offers" for my 3 plan. They are very persistent and I have good reasons to think they're scammers but just wanted to be certain they're not some overzealous subcontractors working for 3.

Hi everyone,

We notice quite a few replies on this topic include the phone numbers being called from. Please don't post 01, 02, or 07 numbers onto public forums. In most cases these are going to be "spoofed" numbers, and the scammers are faking the number. The numbers being shared could be real personal or small business numbers owned by individuals who have no part in the scam.

Please feel free to share your experiences here, it's good feedback to help us understand scammers and spammer activity, and hopefully the advice here will help protect others too.

When it comes to the phone numbers they're using please report this securely by sending the word CALL to 7726, then you'll be prompted on the reply to send over the number which called you. You can forward suspicious texts to 7726 too.

If you have a look at our Fraud to watch out for, and Report a problem pages, you'll find lots of help and guidance on how to report scams and suspected fraud with Three and other organisations.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Most definitely scammers. I lost my iPhone 14 Pro to them. Tracked it to a Birmingham address. Notified Fraud Police after local police didn’t want to know! But neither of them have done anything about it. Over 12 months ago now.

Hey @Nawidzazai28,

Welcome to the Three Community!

We can totally understand the concern with this, it does look like one of our numbers but, we can't see for sure here as there's always a digital footprint of any contact made on your account. You can get in touch with our Customer Service Team to check if there's any notes left about this call.

In the meantime, you can check our Fraud page for anything like this.

Maxine

Hi @IR1,

Yes definitely scams here. We've removed the numbers and link to help keep everyone safe. I've given more advice on the highlighted post at the top of this thread about how to report these, and links to more advice.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hello there.

I'm saddened to hear that someone has done that to you. I can't arrange for someone to contact you from here, you'd be best to report it to the team through the contact us page

The team will be able to check the account to see if anything is happening there, and I'd recommend ensuring your security info is updated.

It would also be best to notify your bank and any other companies that might be impacted by the information that was gained by the scammer.

Pete.
