Scam calls from people claiming to be 3

Keep getting calls from this number: 03333381017 - by people with "offers" for my 3 plan. They are very persistent and I have good reasons to think they're scammers but just wanted to be certain they're not some overzealous subcontractors working for 3.

We notice quite a few replies on this topic include the phone numbers being called from. Please don't post 01, 02, or 07 numbers onto public forums. In most cases these are going to be "spoofed" numbers, and the scammers are faking the number. The numbers being shared could be real personal or small business numbers owned by individuals who have no part in the scam.

Please feel free to share your experiences here, it's good feedback to help us understand scammers and spammer activity, and hopefully the advice here will help protect others too.

When it comes to the phone numbers they're using please report this securely by sending the word CALL to 7726, then you'll be prompted on the reply to send over the number which called you. You can forward suspicious texts to 7726 too.

Hello there. 

It sounds like scammers. The Three team wouldn't call you from a withheld number. It's best not to answer calls from withheld numbers unless you're expecting a call, as scammers will use these opportunities to gather data from you.

Sorry for any confusion there. It looks like you've received a missed call notification. So the text is "From Three" but it's not us calling. This will be a service message to notify you that you missed a call from the mobile number mentioned in the call.

These are sent when you're out of service, for example if you have no signal, or it may be that someone tried to call you during yesterday's outage. Hope this helps clear this up, as I've mentioned in some other replies on this and similar topics, we won't call you from a mobile number.

I just had a call from an 07 number offer and then again from an 033 number offering a 50% discount on my bill because I am a loyal customer and three are trying to keep people when they have been lots of complaints about bad network coverage. 

they couldn’t tell me how much my bill was and also didn’t know my full name or how to spell it, so when they said they needed my email address to send me a link and a password to get Me to link into the new Three app which would guarantee me 5G signal everywhere I was naturally suspicious - big scam energy

just had number 020 3745 2671 call me offering me a sim only because of the trouble with the network.  I didn’t feel comfortable and told them I will contact 3 directly once my contract finishes.  I didn’t recognise number and would never give any details without phoning 3 myself.

I have the same thing from 02*********. Should I trust this number? Usually if something is too good to be true then it probably isn’t. 
3 can you please confirm if this is genuine or a scam?
