Was it really Three?

I have just had a telephone call claiming to be from Three offering a 45% discount on my bill no strings attached. After being asked to spell my email address 3 times I felt something wasn't quite right, declined the offer and hung up.The telephone number was a Liverpool one.Has anyone else had a call like this and if so was it really Three.

I have just received a call just like this, they really struggled to get my email right to validate the “offer” so suggested we do it manually so I hung up, I’d rather not have the offer lol

I just had this from a Brighton area code again offering 45% off my bill, entertained them for a moment and then they sent me a link to reset my password so I ended the call right away. I then got another call I ignored from a London area code which kept calling me.

Hey, Sophie.

Welcome to Three Community.

That sounds like a scam, you did the right thing in ending the call.
It might be worth reaching out to the Support Team to let them know you had the call and that someone tried to reset your password.

Pete.

Had the same just now . Told them to send me the e-mail and I get back to them. Obviously not. Discount offered was 35%, sent me a code onto my mobile phone i should use for verification. They couldn't spell my name, told them that they should know my nane and spell it correctly if I'm their customer and tgey are three. They hung up when they didn't get anywhere.

Hey there.

Welcome to the Three Community page @CL

This definitely doesn't sound like us, and would recommend that you don't provide any further information to them.

You can find information on how best to deal with this along with common fraud here

Thanks, Jade

020 **** **** was today but they're fairly regular getting them three times a week and rather pushy this time today with the 45% discount line... I just reply. That's great, yes please, you've got my details so just apply that thanks, then hang up.

Hi @Averagejoe1234,

Thanks for helping raise awareness about this, we've removed the number shared as these are generally "spoofed" so the UK number showing isn't actually the line you're really being called from. Unfortunately many of the numbers showing on caller ID for these scams are real landlines and mobiles used by unsuspecting individuals and businesses. As mentioned in earlier responses, we call from 03 numbers, so any 01, 02, or 07 caller saying they're representing Three is at best a 3rd party dealer, and more likely a fraudster.

There's advice on how to report these calls on our Fraud to watch out for page.

Thanks,
Jonathan
