Hello there, I wonder if some could reassure me. I have had the 5G Zyxel router for 2 months and the connection has been utterly game changing. Sadly about 4 days ago the connection massive dropped to completely unstable. Original speed was approx 270 to 400 mbps. Now I am down to 70 to 100 and it’s all over the place. Online games are unplayable. I contacted three they explained there is work been carried out in the BH14 area. But I have noted this has been the case for weeks now. I know it’s not the SIM because I have tried a different one and getting g the same result. Numerous restarts / resets / moved around but nothing changes.
i have resorted to tethering whilst the mast is being worked on.
my questions if anyone does know does the 5g router work off the same signal as my phone? Why is it my phone is very stable and I am able to tether so well off it?

Clearly its too early to say but hopefully this will be sorted soon. Unfortunately I would have liked to be informed what is going on by Three just as a cortisy really. Otherwise hours of pointless resets / restarts, if I would have known the problems is with the masts or firmware I wouldnt have wasted my time. I appreciate crypt0ninja update, however would a Three Moderator like to comment whats going on? Seems like a lot of people are having similar issues?

Hi @Scoobysteve,
I'm sorry to hear that your router speeds have dropped so significantly in the last few days. What you're describing doesn't completely match up with the issue the firmware update is addressing, but I'd certainly like to help and take a closer look into this for you.
I'll need a bit more info, but some of it will be private, so I'll send you a private message shortly for this.
Thanks,
JonathanB

I feel this is likely firmware related, there's an upcoming firmware that should fix some issues and improve stability as many of us are having various issues with the Zyxel NR5103E atm (I haven't been able to get 5G at all as of yet despite being on the b10 firmware).
Three have been internally testing the firmware update this week so hopefully we have some official news on its release very soon 🙂
Just to check, you've not accidently hit the antenna switch to external by mistake or something? probably not but seen this happen in the wild lol
You can also do some testing by checking the bands your router is connecting to and try locking to select bands to see if it makes any difference, but I do suspect the upcoming firmware update may help.

Very grateful for the reply! Interesting and hopefully as you as a firmware update! I will hold hope, as it was so good before this time - double checked the switch which is all good but thank you 👍👍
