Good day,
this is a screenshot of my routers home page at 192.168.0.1 when I took this a Speed Test showed I have 165Mbps download when the usual is around 50Mbps (sometimes down to .8Mbps so I suspect I'm on 5g, but the screen isn't showing the Green Line but there are values in the 5G's SINR & RSRP
Does the Router just default to 4g if the signal is stronger? therefore, not show the 5g line ?
As far as the 5g coverage is mapped out, I'm in an island of 4g as I'm too far from the surrounding roads with 5g spots. I'm guessing the Telegraph Poles have 5g repeaters on them in small black boxes at the top?

Hi there.
It doesn't look like you're connected to 5G there. The router picks the best connection at the time, but generally leans towards 5G connections. It's possible the speed results you've got were all on 4G.

Thanks for your reply - I have since had a 5g connection at 72% Signal strength - albeit for a few mins and the green line was there, as well as the blue line. So there isn't a problem with the graph that I thought there was.
I can only hope the coverage for indoor is increased eventually - I s(ee) another company has full coverage in my area already but don't do the BB

It sounds like the device might be choosing 4G due to it not having ideal connectivity on 5G. Fingers crossed you'll see some gains in the 5G side of things soon.
If you haven't tried already, different positioning of the Hub can make a big difference in the connection. Placing it near a window ledge can help, and trying different sides of the house can also help ensure the Hub isn't having to punch a signal through the property to remain connected.

I have my device in the loft and moved my router up there as well as it's easier to route a flat network cable downstairs that way.
I fully understand the implications of having it inside as opposed to mounted outside somewhere. When I was setting up the meter on the side was as high as 72 and the 5g LED was on too - so it's staying there for now. I haven't been able to work out how to make the meter come on again without recycling the power and when I did it was about 30 to 45. But I'm not in a 5g "inside and out" area yet but receiving an acceptable download speed so I'll live with it for a while.
Thanks again for your replies.
