Getting consistent coverage from my three 5g hub

Fledgling

When using my hub I get great coverage in the room it’s based, circa 500mps but this plummets in other rooms to sub 30mps. I’ve been advised to use a mesh system but my existing deco one is restricted to 100mps and keeps dropping in and out.

ive seeen suggestions of using a range extender, specifically the

TP-Link AC2600 Dual Band Mesh Wi-Fi Range Extender, Wi-Fi Booster/Hotspot with 1 Gigabit Port, Dual-Core

has anyone tried this ? Did it work ? And was it simply plug this in upstairs to broaden the signal area and performance. I’m not the best technically so I’d appreciate the help

I use a Tenda Nova Mesh system and get around 230MB download speed. (the same as the router).  It is a fairly cheap Mesh system, no frills, but the MW6 units have excellent range, so the speed holds up across the house.

Because of the way they work, you will generally get better speeds from Mesh systems, than range extenders .

Hi Kris, did you manage to resolve your issue and what did you do? I'm having the same problem

Hi @sam368,

We're limited in that we can't give recommendations on products we don't supply, but we have tested Eero mesh products with our Broadband, and supply them on some of our router plans, so these may be worth looking into if you're having similar issues with the Wi-Fi range.

Thanks,
Jonathan
