Hi I have THREE Broadband with a standard zte MC801A modem which was supplied when i took out the contract.
I want to use an external Ariel to improve the 5G connection and speeds because i get a poor 5g signal.
Has anyone tried an external Ariel with the zte MC801A modem using to TS9 connections and managed to get improved signal and speeds. Do these TS9 ports work??
Thanks
Heath

Hello did you have to go into your router settings or did it pick up the antenna automatically? If so how did you change the setting?

If you get poor signal with 5G then the TS9 external antenna will make no difference. It's only for those who got good 5G coverage indoor only.

I did buy a couple of ts9 pigtails and connected a 5g aeriel to each ts9 connection.
the 5g signal strength in increased from -109dBm to -102 dBm according to the advanced network
information in the THEE router. the SINR vales also improved from 1db to 8db.
The download speed has now in creased from about 50 mbit/sec to 85 mbits/sec.
The ts9 sockets are very delicate however and i opened up the ts9 pig tail plug slightly to
make them easier to push on.
The antennas are inside on the window shelf
