5G Outdoor Home Hub by Greenpacket Y5-210MU Helpful Information.

Hi Everyone,

I thought I would post this as I couldn't find the information myself. I recently go the 5g Outdoor Hub it's awesome its easy to use and its stable. The issue I had was getting on my three app as I didn't have a phone number and I couldn't access the router admin page to retrieve SMS. Normally I would go to 192.168.0.1 to access this but every time I did the page would redirect to greenpacketdevice.com and my browser blocked it. I believe this is actually a very good security feature. So let me give you step-by-step details on how to access the router's admin page and view your messages. if anyone has a better way please feel free to comment.

You will need a laptop with a wired ethernet port:

1. disconnect the eero mesh hub from the POE port (The little white box that is connected to the one outside)

2. connect your laptop directly to the POE port ( simply take the cable out of the eero box and put it in your laptop)

3. Open your browser enter 192.168.0.1 or greenpacketdevice.com/#/login

4. You will be asked to change your password (make sure it is unique, NOT the same as your wifi password and keep a record of it somewhere safe)

5. When the password has changed close your browser.

6. Re-open the browser and go back to greenpacketdevice.com/#/login or 192.168.0.1

7. Enter the username : user

8. Enter the password you just created.

9. Click log in

10. you can now navigate to the SMS section and retrieve your messages there will be at least 3 messages two of the are OTA settings and will look garbled and corrupt just delete them, one will have your mobile number associated with your SIM card. When you register on My3 you will need That mobile number your current email address and the one time password that will be sent to your broadband sim card. so make sure you get that before you plug your eero back in.

This is not a process for easy use, I've been in the mobile industry for over 30 years and it took some very deep thinking to work this out. Maybe there is an easier way if there is please let me know.

I hope this helps someone.

Hi @fuzzball78,

Thanks for highlighting this, I've received word that there was a software update since your post which has hopefully fixed this. Are you able to access the router admin over the Eero Wi-Fi now, or still seeing the same issue?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi I try to log in the admin it just says the info is incorrect? I have type what it shows on the outdoor hub.

can someone help here?

also like I went to work and come back like 8 hours later it show my network is disconnected I have to manually unplug the outdoor hub as well as the eero then replug it to have connection back??

is that faulty hub or faulty eero?

thanks everyone in advance 🙏🏽

@Pandachee3 I would reset the outdoor hub, to do this undo the two hex screws next to the cable, they are captive screws so they won't come out of the base plate but the cable isn't clipped in so it will fall out (be careful). There is a hole next to the sim card use a small screwdriver or something solid and hold it down While the device has power so make sure that cable is in keep holding the reset switch until all the lights on the side go off and come back on then replace the botttom cover.

Now when you access the admin menu it will ask you for a new password ( this is for the user profile) the admin profile will always be the one on the label unless you change it in the admin menu. I suspect your router did an update and something may have interrupted it or there was a network issue.

Just as an FYI If you get problems in the future try creating a new post rather than reply to an existing solved post. Only people following the post will see your question and we may not always be able to reply. posting a new post will get more visibility. hope it helps.

@JonathanB I have tested it today and you are correct this has been patched. Thank You to the team.

Honestly I have never think of that but heck yeah. I haven’t try it yet. I’m literally living next to the 5g tower my iPhone 15 pro max can get about 1120mbps but how come I’m just on about 550 range for the new outdoor hub?? Mind teach me some skill? 🥹

@Pandachee3 When you say your outdoor hub only gets 550 range. Are you referring to speed, 550 mbps if so it would depend on how you measuring the speed. your phone connects directly to a tower however it may not be the tower that is closest to you. your outdoor hub may be connected to an entirely different tower. You have to also consider that if you measuring speed from a device connected via WIFI such as your eero mesh hub your speed can be effected by interference, the WIFI max speed, the devices max speed.

I would say that any speed checks you do should be taken as a guide only. Hope it helps

Thank you for reply. In my area I got two tower. One is literally like 10 second walk like open the door just comfoss the road. As right now the outdoor hub only just got 350mbps but my ip15 still going like 1130 1230 range. I thought the will just connect to the closest tower no? Correct me if I’m wrong 🤦🏻‍♂️ I wonder if I put the hub like one floor out will it be reaching more speed?? Or try different router? I got the eero 6 from three

@Pandachee3 It doesn't work like that Your device will connect to the tower with the most stable connection Being the closest means nothing. It may not even connect to either of the towers near you it depends on many variables.  If the outdoor hub has a 5g led lit-up on it then you know you have a 5g connection, you can move your device and the numbers on the side will give you an idea of signal strength. However you may find this is your max speed for that device. They are not all built the same Iphones may have a better receiver than the outdoor hub. you maybe on a congested cell site moving and rebooting may help. But 350mps is not to slow in fact it is faster than some fiber networks that run off 54mps. I would only be worried if your speeds drop so bad that you cant use YouTube. 350mps will be more than adiquite.
