Micro SIM to nano SIM?

  • My current phone uses a micro SIM. I want to buy a new phone but that only takes a nano SIM. Can I just adapt my current SIM by pushing out the middle bit (as it was from a trio SIM pack) and using that? Or will that not work and I need to request a new trio SIM ? Thanks.

I am pretty sure you can as the electronic bit is in the nano sim and the rest is plain plastic. If in doubt pop into your local 3 store or ring customer service if one of the community moderators does not respond.

Hey Susan,

Welcome to the Three Community.

@sc1999, and @Kevbur123, are 100% correct. Thanks for responding!

Like you've said, as it's a trio SIM you can pop it out to the smaller size any time. Any issues though, a Three store can issue you a replacement if you pop in with ID, customer services can post one, or we also have a SIM replacement order form on the website.

Great news, thank you.

Yes you can or as "sc1999" customer services can help. They can give instore or send a new trio sim that once you use it will deactivate your current sim. In reality though I foresee no issue with pushing your current sim out so it becomes nano.
