5G connection keeps dropping

Gwp
Fledgling

I am in a 5G recognised area and because my network box was full I could not get normal broadband so opted for Three 5G as I was in a 5G area, when I get 5G connection it’s fine and backed up with 4G which is not great, however I feel like in have a 4G contract with 5G back up, I have restarted router many times and it’s placed in the only place I get 5G, any suggestions anyone? Thanks

Hi Gwp,

Welcome to the Three Community.

If you've tried all the viable locations, and are only getting 5G some of the time it may be worth checking the network status checker to make sure there's no faults or planned work in the area.

Just in case this doesn't shed any light, I'll send you a PM with instructions on how to get further help with this.

When it comes to 5G you need to be careful about coverage this is because a 5G signal is less able to penetrate through things like walls windows ECT though outdoor coverage may be better but it also means that at 5G router unless there is a 5G tower near by will switch to 4G sorry if my explanation seems completed but it,a all to do with signal penitration

You could ask for a replacement sim to be sent out or collect from a store if you have photo ID in case the sim had an issue, this can come times help.
