Turned on sim and no connection, left for a few hours and still no service. In USA tried selecting T-Mobile which has strong single but won't connect.
I'm not looking to spend anything or use data just need to be able to receive SMS messages for multi factor authentication. Spend cap is set to £7 but sould be free to receive SMS messages.
How do I get my SIM working so I can receive the codes?

Hey @frost2029 if you have no service is not good. Set your phone to automatically pick the network for you.
Is this the first that's happening to you? Are you pay as you go or contract?
I'd try to chat with support and ask to check if everything ok for roaming outside of UK?

3G has been turned off in the USA. Does your phone support 4G and 4G Calling Abroad?

No good.
Network automatic makes no difference.
Can't contact support as time difference makes it impossible to contact them.

First time travelling to the US? I'm just wondering who's the preferred US network for three? So if you travelled there before can you remember which network was picked before?

T-Mobile was the preferred network. My USA SIM is T-Mobile and has full signal. Turn that off and 3 mobile on and won't connect. Something must be blocking the connection. I've raised a ticket with 3 and will see what they say

If the same setup worked before that's even more strange. Maybe try switching on and off airplane mode a few times.
It's bank holiday tomorrow and I saw that Mon to Fridays chat is only available 8am til 10pm. Good luck with it.
