My data isn’t working

Ayana
Fledgling

my data hasn’t been working for the past week. And the few weeks before my data has been very slow. I am in North London and when I enter my postcode they say that the data coverage is excellent but my data isn’t working? I have tried everything,  reset my phone, turned airplane mode on and off, reset data settings ,I even called Three to see how much allowance I have left: 120GB. This confuses me as I can call and text just fine so I am sure it is not a problem on my end. Please fix the problem (i forgot to add, no I didn’t come back from a holiday)

Hi @Ayana,

Sorry to hear you've been having trouble with your data connection lately.

As well as the expected coverage, you can check the Network Status tab here. This will confirm if there's any known issues we're working on.

It sounds like you've tried some good troubleshooting already but here's a list of steps you can try that may help get your data connection online or narrow down the issue.

  • Check Mobile Data is definitely switched on in your settings, if it's already on try toggling this off and back on.
  • Have you tried rebooting/switching the phone off and back on? (Not sure if you meant this when you said reset, but if you haven't it's still worth a go, with some minor software glitches or issues syncing with the network this can help)
  • Reset Network Settings (Please note this will forget saved Wi-Fi networks and paired Bluetooth connections)
  • Are you able to test you SIM in another phone? If other troubleshooting isn't working, then this can help confirm if the issue is with your phone, or more likely to be a SIM/Network issue.
  • Have you been able to test your connection in multiple areas/postcodes, this can help confirm whether it's likely to be a local network issue or not.
  • What sort of error message do you see on your browser or app(s) when it fails to connect?

Let me know on the above if this helps sort the issue, or narrow it down further.

Thanks,
Jonathan
