Network Signal

Rooster
Fledgling

I have been a loyal customer of Three Network for over 20 years and have always been satisfied with their mobile data and signal. However, in the past year, I have been experiencing difficulties using my phone unless I am connected to Wi-Fi. I have noticed a significant decrease in signal strength in major cities such as Manchester City Centre, Central London, Birmingham, Nottingham, and Leicester. Even in areas where I used to have strong signal, I now only have one bar (using a Samsung S22 Ultra).

I am wondering if this is a common issue for other customers as well? Is there anything I can do to improve my signal? Is this a problem with all networks?

Thank you for your assistance.

That’s helpful, thanks. I get so few calls that it will be a while before I know if that fixes it though. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Re the 3G switch off, I don’t use social media, and I don’t follow the news (too much negativity), and I never visit the 3 website. I guess as my phone isn’t 3G-only it’s not supposedly affecting me. Fair enough.

@Rooster20 years and new member on the forum... (or is a bot post?)

network coverage really depends on too many factors to be reduced to such a simple terms (as strong/weak signal).

The old recomendations...
check Three's coverage and status page for the postcodes you mentioned.
Maybe try your sim on a different phone (if it happens to have better coverage could that is your handset not supporting some of the band/freq used by 3)

I rely a lot on wifi calling when at home

good luck

Not everyone feels the need to join forums as soon as they become a customer; I read forum posts if I have a problem - I only join if I can’t find a solution and/or want to post (which rarely happens). In over 20 years, I’ve never once needed to post anything on here, till now, and only now because I am frustrated with 3’s deteriorating service.
