Network coverage in Scotland

Fledgling

It's been a few months the network coverage in Scotland has worsened a lot so even if the signal on the phone is 4G 3 bars you don't get any or a very slow data connection, in some areas it drops to 3G and the the data connection is almost 0. I'm very worried because my phone is becoming useless and my contract is ending in 2026. I've tried to contact the 3 customer services but they say in my area the3 has a good data coverage but they are phasing out the 3G. I have an iPhone 16 pro and when I moved to the the3 the signal was ok, now as I said I'm worried because it's not reliable coverage. I asked if I can for this reason end my contract but it seems not possible. Is anyone else in my same situation? What can I do now?

Hello, Cinone.

It's disappointing to hear you're having issues with the network connection recently. It's not an issue I've experienced personally, actually I've been experiencing the opposite, with 4G speeds actually being faster for me since the 3G switch off. It would be nice to hear from others here to see what their experience has been like since 3G went away.

I'm assuming when you say you asked about ending the contract, you meant without fee, and generally this isn't something that is offered, as the team will instead work on identifying the cause of the issue, and trying to get it fixed. I'd recommend staying in touch with the team either by calling or chatting live if you're still experiencing problems, this way you can ensure they have the most up to date information relating to the issues you're having.

Pete.

I have an iPhone 16 pro that doesn't have any problems and if I use an EE sim in it it's working fine, so it's not on my end
