How can I check my pay as you go balance on a feature phone?
The feature phone is my emergency backup. I have a SIM only smartphone for daily use.

Hi @Houlie,
As the vast majority of customers use smartphones, it's primarily intended to use the Three App to manage your account. You should be able to sign in to this using your smartphone, and you'll simply get the occasional security text sent to the PAYG phone when signing in. Likewise, you can sign into My3 from our website using another device's browser.
Failing this, we still operate 444 as the "Top Up line", I believe that number should help you access info like balances and Top Up options.
