WiFi calling stopped working

GHunt92
Fledgling

I have an iPhone 13 Pro. I do not get mobile network connection in my home and rely on wifi calling.

I use BT broadband. I have a wireless router.

I have had the same setup for two years and had no problems until now.

Since this morning, I have been unable to make any wifi calls. I can still use facetime, iMessage, safari and social media apps. It is only wifi calling that is not working.

I have checked all settings are enabled for wifi calling on my phone, I have tried toggling wifi off/on I have also toggled mobile data & airplane mode off/on. I have tried turning my phone off/on. I have reset network settings and disconnected/reconnected to my wireless router. I have also checked my router speeds which are normal - as I’ve mentioned above I have still been able to use the internet as normal on my phone. I have also walked away from my house to attempt making a call using only mobile network and it works.

Despite this, wifi calling is still not working. I cannot receive or make any phone calls.

I work once a week on call - I need to resolve this ASAP.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

EDIT - to add, my partner is on EE network, also does not get mobile network signal in our home but has no issue with making wifi calls so I do not believe it is any issue with our internet connection.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience whilst we've been working on sorting this issue out. We started rolling out a fix yesterday evening, and it should have landed with you all by this morning.

If you've not picked up the 64.2 carrier update automatically, try checking in your Settings, General, About and you can also manually check for the update. Please let us know if you're still experiencing any issues with your Wi-Fi calling.

I appreciate everyone's feedback around this issue. I'll be sharing this to the relevant teams.

Thanks,
Jonathan

This is still an issue, my wife and I both have iphones updated to 64.2 but we cannot use wifi calling. I have spoken to comunnity fibre who provide our home internet but they state this is an issue with Three.

Three have told me two times that the issue is on Three’s side not Community Fiber’s and that they’re working to fix it but don’t know when it will be resolved. They said that to me for the first time nearly two months ago. And reiterated it’s on Three’s side again just last week still with no estimated date for it to be resolved.

Two months for me. Community Fiber says the same. Strangely, it works on some Broadband networks, but not Community Fiber nor whatever service the London metro use. Three have told me this is a known issue with their service.

let me try to picture your problem:
- wifi calling not working at home with Community Fiber broadband
And
- wifi not working on London underground and therefore no wifi calling

Then you go and say: wifi calling works on some other Broadband providers. And on the top you have a Three agent saying this a known issue in Three network.
Imo if the doesn't work with Community Fiber but does with others, then likely it is a CF problem and maybe CF has not realized yet, a bit like what happened or happening (?) to Sky early this year - it turned out to be Skys MAP-T implementation.
On the London Underground wifi, check this and let us know wether you can browse using wifi service (and not cellular service)?

Three called today and said it’s a known issue to them and that they’re trying to fix but don’t have an estimate yet for when it will work again.

l tried my three sim on 2 iphones ( I have BT broadband) and as soon I activated airplane mode, I got the "3 wifi calling" indication.
So in my opinion if you and others are having this problem with CF broadband, I cannot think what Three can do to change that. Unless you telling me that Three support is pointing a finger at CF and decided to reach to them. Does CF keep saying that everything is fine?

I’m leaving Three as two months is too long.

Try disabling and immediately re-enabling WiFi calling in your phone’s settings. That sometimes works for me.

It hasn't done anything for me since this started, unfortunately.
