Porting number to new contract

Hi I am wondering if anyone can assist me I have found a good deal with three but it’s not a upgrade deal 

three have said I can port my number to a new contract but I am wondering if I was to port my number to a different network then take a new contract out with three and then port my number over that way is this the best way?

Hi @Kimc90,

It's usually intended to do an upgrade rather that take out a new line. Did you speak with the upgrades team to check if they could match this? If they can't for some reason, what you've described is possible.

I'd recommend if porting out and back in to take a PAYG SIM from the new provider though, rather than taking on an unnecessary extra credit check with another provider, then another one with Three for the "new" line.
