Roaming charges

Colsav
Fledgling

Hi

in December last year I visited Prague

during my visit I received texts from 3 saying I needed to purchase a data passport for each day I used roaming data at a cost of £5 per day if I didn’t I would be charged standard roaming charges at high prices

i have just received my bill to find I was charged £2 on days I didn’t buy the passport and £5 on 4 other days when I did

can anyone tell me why I had to buy a data passport at a higher cost than the standard £2 roaming charge

Hey @Colsav, thanks for joining us here at Three Community.

The Czech Republic is one of our Go Roam countries, so the daily £2 charge should've applied for using your allowances there. If you use up your regular data allowance, you'd then be charged at the 'out of allowance' rate laid out in your Price Guide. Did you use up your data allowance before receiving those texts referencing the Data Passport?

If not, it could be that you've connected to another non Go Roam network, prompting that Data Passport message to come through. Did you connect to an airline network at all, or spend time in any other countries on your way to the Czech Republic?

Let us know and we'll do our best to help clear this up.

No expert on this but £2 is daily roaming fee and £5 is for a daily add on which allows unlimited data, I think. Did you buy an add on but if in doubt check you bill or call 333.
