These people claim to be from 3 and are offering a new iphone for £18 pcm with a free gift if I let them take a "security deposit".

I can confirm this isn't a legitimate Three caller and sounds like a spam call.

I'd advise you to block the number and report this to us, by texting the word 'CALL' followed by the number that called, to 7726, free of charge.
