I’m over 12 months into my 4G broadband which when I signed up 5G was supposedly not in my area although the 5G transmitter was only 25m from my house and was providing 5G to my 3 mobile. So my option was 4G. Now having been bombarded by 3 5G sales pitches I have asked to simply upgrade to 5G. 3 want to charge me £240 to transfer to 5G. Has anyone else faced this incredibly frustrating situation. Customer services were no help other than empathising with my situation. It is clear 5G is in roll out, wouldn’t it be intelligent and foreseeable that as 3 roll out a new service in the area that and an upgrade would be possible. No not 3, “we will bombard you with marketing and when you want 5G we will take great delight in having you over for £240” If this is understanding and your customers then I’m getting something wrong. There is a reason why people come to hate big business, it’s situations like this. All I can hope for is that in the next 12 months another provider can offer 5G in my area and I’ll be delighted to transfer my mobile No and cancel my 4G broadband. Here’s hoping someone picks this message up and there is a rethink, however I’m not hopeful.

We understand this'll be frustrating, and we welcome the opportunity to feed it back. It's true that even if you're near a 5G mast, it doesn't always mean we can provide 5G for your area. We have to be careful not to sell you a service we can't adequately provide, as this wouldn't be fair to you. You can keep looking at the checker online to see when 5G is available, if you'd like. We're sorry we don't have better news for you on this occasion.
