Ann I being throttled??

Ricbro86

Home broadband has been a nightmare the last few weeks only seeing speeds of 50-100mb and having issues with buffering.

I've been trying out different locations and nothing seems to help.

I can do a speed test on an iPhone 13 with three right next to where my ZTE router is and I get triple the speed!

Do you throttle home broadband users?

I very much doubt that Three are throttling home Broadband users. Are you accessing via a VPN ? If so, which VPN are you using ?

Involved

I wouldn't be so hasty.
I use a Plex server and Three are actively blocking port 32400, I've tried a range of other ports and they're blocking them too.
All filtering and firewalls are off, no VPN's, even tried a DMZ for the device in question.
Still actively filtered and blocked within Three's routing scheme.
Unplug the ethernet from the Three router, plug it into a BT modem, port is clear.

Three are having such massive issues with contention that they have resorted to aggressively filtering their customers traffic to try and alleviate the issue.
When greed and profit trump investment this is where you end up.

OK, I accept that you have evidence to show that my assertion was incorrect.

As far as contention is concerned, Three vary hugely from area to area - probably more than any other network.
