Having just moved from BT fttp to three 5g my lights and sockets won't connect to the 2.4ghz network. I have a E5-250MA. I have unmerged the networks. Tried switching off the 5ghz network and leaving on the 2.4ghz network. I have tried using the 2.4ghz guest network but the devices won't connect. Any advise and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there.
Welcome to the Three Community.
To confirm, there are no devices that connect to your 2.4ghz network?
Pete.

Hi Pete thanks for getting back to me. I am currently running the 2.4ghz network. TV, laptop, tablet, phones, cameras all connected. It's just the bulbs and plugs which aren't. I have tried to set them up with smart life as normal. I can see the network, enter the password but the connection fails (Times out).

It sounds like the issue might not be with the 2.4ghz band then. Did you try the secondary set up process for the Smart Life devices, where you connect to an access point being broadcast by the product in question? Most devices have a 'flashing fast' and 'flashing slow' mode.

Yes I have tried that too with no luck. Jeff

I can remember now that on the BT home hub you had to temporarily change the router Mode from 1 to 3 in order for the bulbs to be found. It doesn't appear that the 5g router has as many settings that can be accessed. It may be I need to invest in a newer version of Wifi Bulbs. Mine are probably over 10 years old. I'll let you know how I get on.
Mysteriously after a number of reboots of the router the plug adapters have been found and added to the network and working fine.

I see. I'm not sure what those settings would relate to, do you know what settings those modes would have adjust on the Hub?

Bought new bulbs they set up first time in Smart Life app. Thanks Pete for your assistance. Just more thing is it possible to port forward with this router? I suspect not
