Hi,
As per the Subject line, please can the 'Passthrough' functionality explained, is this the equivalent of Bridge mode? The need is to set the device to bridge, and this seems to work except the device cannot be accessed from within the network when set to static IP address, however this address functions as a gateway seemingly OK. The device can be pinged as well but not accessed via https for some reason? Also missing is 'Update subsection', seems like hidden or disabled. Additionally, when setting to 'Passthrough' with the default DHCP and IP config, the device will give out a public IP address to the DHCP client, however, this only started happening after some testing and a number of restarts, so may not have taken effect for a while because it was giving out the correct internal IP address from the local DHCP range at first so essentilally no change from 'Routing'.
This is a 2nd device I have run into bridge mode issues with, the other one was the previous MC888 that with the particular firmware at least, was confusing the hell out of the network with it's broadcast traffic - it was accessible on the IP address though but made the other traffic time out, etc, understood to be a known issue others have reported (possible workaround setting the router IP address to a different IP address range, etc.?
Many thanks

Hi @88SvluGE,
To my understanding IP passthrough is very similar to Bridge mode. Essentially you'd be using this so that our router acts as the modem only, and you have a personally supplied router which you want to use for managing your home network and devices?
The E5-250 is a device we've only started supplying quite recently on Three, so there's not a lot of content on this Community yet, but I did notice a topic How to setup IP Passthrough/Bridge mode for Zyxel NR5103E which might have some relevant content (although the instructions are for a different device of course).
Thanks,
Jonathan

Thanks for that,
And
1. do we by now have the operation manual to set it up (Note that the manual (three specific) that comes with it has the Advanced menu image listed on page 17 afair, however there is no further detail available and I was not find the manufacturer (full installation/operation) manual either at the time?
2. Perhaps there should be an "How to set up Bridge/Passthrough" section by now in the device support section on three websited, especially, as this device was previously for some time available only for business customers where this is the default option it is understood while at the same time they would a lot of time have theird own firewall behind it and so the business support should have the instructions available or perhaps someone can reach out to the vendor to retrieve the exact steps after a reset how to set it up, as appears to be hard to reproduce a stable solution with the next device getting the public IP address each and every time?
May be as simple as a firmware version switch or just a certain way configured (for example would have to be connected to the 2.5G port vs 1G or the other way around, and how then to access the UI, on the other port?).
Basic stuff, need steps to set it up after a reset and if tt it is not stable or the outcome varies each and every time then might be necessary to involve the engineering team and vendor to get a fix, however the first step is to set it up according to the insttuctions -
KINDLY INSTRUCTIONS ARE STILL MISSING TO SET UP PASSTHROUGH, TO THIS DAY?
