Do you know how to get more technical information from your router/modem?  If you can find the cell numbers your device is connecting to, you could use services like cellmapper to find the mast your device is using.

The Three network is being "upgraded" to allow vodafone customer to connect on what used to be Three masts and vice versa.  That work does seem to require a bit of down time for the mast as it's being upgraded.  I've heard of it taking 1-4 days.  It could be the case that the mast you were connected to is or has seen some work on it and your router has "jumped" to the next best mast.

I know this is an over used "solution", but have you tried a full reboot of your router?  ie switching it totally off for about 30 seconds and reapplying power to it?  This might allow it to reconnect to the mast you have historically been connected on.

No point asking in a community forum?

you know what happened 3 years ago when I bought this router. It didn’t work to play online games because of some ridiculous fiddly settings within the router page. Only by posting here did I get other people with the same issue, and actually end up trading DMs with a three network engineer who didn’t even know this setting could be changed or why it was the way it was. So there is a point to post here. I’m aware how to check it myself. Posting here allows me to see if it’s just me or many people, replying with no helpful information at all is however completely pointless so thanks

Now that’s a better posting. No mention of dog ••••. You make a good point! This is the whole idea of forums such as this. Unfortunately you also get chancers liars and time wasters (absolutely none of which applies to you) and people like me tend to label people without knowing all the facts. I wish you well.

Hmmm I have to say that dog **** is not conducive to getting a good signal. It is indicative of bad manners when posting on a public forum.
